One of the oldest parks Kirov is located on the picturesque Bank of the Vyatka river, in the historic part of the city. The official opening of the garden area in 10906 square meter occurred in the fall of 1835 the promontory formed by the river and the slope Razdergannogo of the ravine.
The reason of appearance in Vyatka (now the Kirov) beautiful garden was a visit to the city by Emperor Alexander I in 1824. In December 1835 the garden got the name "Alexander" in honor of the heir to the throne (the future Emperor Alexander II).
Designed exiled Moscow architect Alexander Lavrent by Vitberg, the architectural ensemble of the garden includes: decorative fence and gate with entrance portico (1838-1840.g.), as well as coastal Central rotunda and pavilion provincial architect A. E. Timofeeva (1835). The combination of systems alleys and landscape architecture in the ensemble of the Alexander garden makes it one of the best works of landscape architecture of late classicism.
In the early twentieth century in the garden built a chess pavilion, a cinema, children's rides and a dance floor, and at the main entrance and along the Central alley created beautiful flower arrangements. Aleksandrovsky sad in our day – a favorite place of citizens and guests of the city, where in the shade of ancient trees you can sit quietly on the bench and get some fresh air on the banks of the Vyatka river.
