Castello dei Suardo stands at the foot of a hill in the heart of the town of Bianzano in the province of Bergamo and turned towards Val Cavallina. He never was an aristocratic residence and was used as storage products, and also as a shelter for pilgrims, merchants and various dealers. This is evidenced by the structure of the castle – his second and third floors, both very modest, with four arched Windows with two doors and a long combined rooms from the side of the valley.

The whole complex of Castello dei Suardo fortified with strong walls perfect rectangular shape, the corners of which are oriented to the cardinal directions. Above the castle rises a 25-metre tower, placed in the centre at the entrance - it is made of square stones, brought from the neighbouring mountains, and still striking in its grandeur. By the way, the material from which the tower is built, is frost resistant.

The building of the castle divided light brown stone from the area of Sarnico into two parts: the bottom is lined with stone blocks of enormous size. The portal is made in the Gothic style with Lancet arch and the coat of arms above it. It is protected by a double line of walls. Number of preserved ramparts and a drawbridge with two guard donjon. The donjon was meant to protect the castle from attack by Val Cavallina. On one corner of the Castello dei Suardo you can still see elements of the Ghibelline battlements.

The hall of the castle, paved with pebbles, remarkable cylindrical vault, which is painted in bright colors by the master's hand. Pictured here playing cupids, garlands of flowers, characteristic of the style 13-14-th centuries, as well as allegorical images of the four virtues. The coat of arms of the family Suardo placed over the main entrance to the castle, depicts a fierce lion, and the eagle with prey in its talons.

Castello dei Sardo has a good degree of safety for structures, erected in the 13th-14th centuries. Summer in the town of Bianzano historic festival is held, during which all of the courtyards, balconies and streets decorated with flowers, and wander around dressed in ancient costumes, the characters, the return of tourists in the distant past.
