Clock tower Photo: Clock tower

The clock tower was built in Tryavna in 1814 by not only local artists, but also local residents, whose names, unfortunately, remained unknown.

The total height of the tower reaches 21, 15 meters. Conventionally, the tower is divided into three parts: the basis of a parallelepiped with a square section, made of stone. The middle part of the tower is an octagon, ending in a small metal cornice. This part of the tower was repeatedly renewed – the bricks were plastered and whitewashed. It was later covered with wood, painted in a bad color that is not in harmony with the overall architectural concept. As a result, it managed to fix only in 1966 during the reconstruction.

A special clock mechanism installed in the middle part of the tower and originally there was only the bell, but no dial and hands. It was created in 1815 by craftsmen from the town of Gabrovo.

The top of the tower – octahedral shape, carved from wood.

In 1971 on the occasion of the anniversary travinsky library, clockwork was renovated in such a way that every night he gave the ten ringing of gunshots, and heard the sounds of songs in the poem DOE "Inseparable". As a result, this tune became the anthem of the city.
