Lutheran Church of St. Mary in the resort town of Yalta is one of the few churches of this denomination in the Crimea. Religious building is located opposite Partisan alley.

Lutheran Church of Saint Mary for over 130 years. The Church was built in 1885 with funds donated by parishioners of the Lutheran religion, as well as Russian and German emperors.

The first information about the existence of a Lutheran parish in the city of Yalta belong to the 70-th years of the 19th century, at a time when the believers were under the control of the Lutheran Consistory in St. Petersburg. In 1874 the General Council of the Consistory appealed to the Ministry of internal Affairs with the request to allocate them land to build a Church. Selected soon for the construction of the Church a small plot of land was owned by the famous local architect G. F. Schreiber. After some time, began collecting donations for the erection of the Church, which was organized by citizens-Lutherans. For a short time they gathered about 17 thousand rubles. In early 1874, Bishop Richter sent a submission to the adjutant General of A. Tomashevo to consider the draft of the Church, designed by architect G. Schreiber. Having considered the project, the Board building Committee returned it for revision, making a number of comments.

The Church was built over 10 years. The building of the Lutheran Church, the architect has executed in the Gothic revival style. In addition to the Lancet arches in the entrance and window openings, the facade was decorated with gabled bell tower in the shape of a hexagonal pyramid, which eventually was destroyed.

In 1917 the Church was closed. After it has placed the chess club, and only in 1993 the Church was returned to the ownership of the Yalta Evangelical Lutheran congregation. Today St. Mary's Church in Yalta - the best preserved of the Lutheran Church of the Crimea. It is the spiritual center of the German community of greater Yalta.
