Turunc Photo: Turunc

Turunc is a small coastal resort town on the shore of a beautiful Bay located in the district of Marmaris, the beautiful Bay to the South-West of the city at a distance of twenty miles. The natural lagoon is framed by steep cliffs and beautiful sandy beach in the Bay of Turunç has a length of five hundred meters.

Here is a very dry climate, much drier than in Marmaris; humidity does not exceed an average of 40-50%. In sight at sea is a large island that protects the Bay from storm winds and large waves - there just does not happen.

In Turunc you can relax and enjoy the amazing beaches, sun and sea. The sea here is great, it shimmers in all shades of blue: water is absolutely transparent, so that the bottom is visible on the four feet, if not more, it is quite salty to effortlessly float on the water. The beach consists of imported large black sand. Jumping in the sea will be smooth big stones. Turunc for the amazing cleanliness of the beaches and the sea was awarded the European Blue flag certificate".

Most of the year you can swim, because the water and air temperature never drops below 15° C even in the winter months.

The town, when viewed from above, has a tri-color paint: red tile roofs, white-cream facades of houses and greenery. There is also a small sea port. The sun rises over the sea and sets behind the mountains, the sunset here is so early, but not fast.

On the slopes of mountains and hills mostly covered with pine trees, and in the village – pomegranates, olives, magnolias, figs and palm trees. Here, unlike Marmaris, not so many colors. The air is pure, and in the evening smells of resin. This area had a great variety of fruit trees, and village names derived from citrus varieties.

Life in Turunc is supported by stops of yachts and boats that require minor repairs and replenishment of supplies for travel. Many boats drop their anchor in the night time near restaurants, full of visitors.

The village has embankment, behind which is located the Central shopping street. There are mini markets, a couple dozen shops with beach accessories, Souvenirs, clothing, leather, jewelry and fruit sweets. It cannot be called a complete shopping, but all you need for a good rest. Along the quay there is a small two-story hotels and cafes, prices are quite high.

The underwater world of this area is amazing and diverse. There are many caves and rocky ledges underwater. You can also find opportunities for practicing water sports and on the beach. Here, however, permitted in all sports, except those involving motor boats. This rule was introduced in order to avoid environmental pollution and excessive noise. Also here you can get all the necessary training and diving instruction.

Fans of fishing will gladly visit Turunc, as the fishing is very popular here.
