Museum of the history of Borjomi (local history Museum) is one of the oldest museums of Georgia and a place where you can find many interesting and new things about the history of the city of Borjomi. The Museum contains a rich collection of finds from archaeological excavations and artefacts of the region.

The history Museum is located in a historic building designed in neo-Gothic style. The Museum building was built in 1890 as the office of the Imperial Romanov dynasty. The author of this project was the German architect-engineer – Swear.

Borjomi Museum consists of several departments: history and archaeology, Ethnography, applied art and nature Borjomi. The Museum presents a large number of exhibits that can attract the attention of discerning travelers.

The first floor of the Museum of the history of Borjomi devoted to history and archaeology. Here you can see examples of bronze weapons and ornaments of the I-II century BC, and the collection of coins of earlier periods. According to archaeologists, some of these artifacts belong to the V century BC.

On the second floor of the Museum houses personal belongings of the Romanov dynasty and items from their Palace: porcelain and crystal vases, dishes and more.

Especially popular among tourists, located on the third floor of the Department of the Museum that is completely dedicated to the nature of the region. Here were gathered the most interesting specimens of flora and fauna of this region.

Of course, you cannot ignore stored in the Museum of things related to the main pride of the city of Borjomi mineral water. Here tourists have the opportunity to see precious photos, advertising posters, old bottles and labels from the past, and also learn many interesting things about the world-famous mineral springs of Borjomi.
