Museum of Karol Szymanowski Museum, located in the Polish city of Zakopane. Villa "Atma" - the place where Karol Szymanowski spent six years of his life. Currently the Museum has things related to creative and personal life of the Polish composer.

Villa "Atma" was built in the late 19th century as a guest house in the popular Chalet style Polish architect Jozef Cyprus-Stochem. In 1930, the Villa "Atma" was rented by the Polish composer Karol Shimanovsky, who wrote II Concerto for violin and IV Symphony Concert. Villa became his permanent place of residence after he was diagnosed with tuberculosis and he left his position of Director of the Warsaw Conservatory in 1930. Among the artists who visited a friend at the Villa, were: Arthur Rubinstein, Serge Lifar and Emil Mlynarski. In 1935, the composer went to Switzerland for treatment, where he died.

The idea of creating the Museum belonged to the niece of the composer Christine Dabrowski, on the initiative which in 1972 began a fundraiser to buy a house. In 1974 the Villa "Atma" was transferred to the National Museum of Krakow, who began a two-year renovation. The Museum was opened on 6 March 1976. The Villa "Atma" by the photos and various documents was restored in vivo the interior of the house composer.

In March 2007, the Museum returned two portraits of the composer brushes Witkiewicz, who until 1936 were part of the original interior of the Villa.
