Laspi pass is the highest point in the territory of the highway Yalta – Sevastopol. It is located 700 metres North of Laspi Bay.

Many years ago, between Cape Aya and mount Elijah was a valley that had many sources that are "polluting" the earth. In Greek Laspi means "mud", is exactly this characteristic is reflected in the title of Laspi. Because of the strong earthquake in 1790 in the valley floor cracks, through them, the water has left the majority of springs. Gradually the valley of Balaclava was deserted.

On the territory of the Laspi pass is a rock, it is named after the famous writer Garin-Mikhailovsky. He did the calculations for the construction of a highway through the Laspi pass. On the rock itself has an observation deck. With the deck offers a wonderful view of the Cape Aya and the Bay of Balaclava and Batiliman. Both of these bays are located in the same towns, administratively they report to the city Council of Sevastopol. The people of the Bay Laspi and Batiliman known as the Crimean Africa, and all because here a constant dry winds and lack.

The Laspi pass acts as a natural monument. Here constantly felt the pleasant aroma of juniper, clean air provide old evergreen trees. At first glance, the chaos stone in the water may seem dangerous, but such a phenomenon as the storm is here very rare, and this place is a Paradise for surfers. In this area is very clean and clear water, it is home to various fish, mussels and crabs, and the sea bottom is covered with algae.

From 1998 to 2003 on the Laspi pass a Church was built and the chapel in honor of the 2000th anniversary of the Nativity. The architect of these buildings was Grigoryan G. S.
