Boris and Gleb Church, or the Cathedral of the Holy martyrs-martyrs blessed princes Boris and Gleb, is the oldest temple in the town of Novogrudok. Its initial version was built in the XII century. The Church has four pillars, creatednew surrounded by a gallery. Its walls were painted with frescoes, stone and tiled floors.

In 1317 the Church became a Cathedral and a monastery. In 1451, this monastery was visited by Metropolitan Jonah, who after his death was canonized as a Saint Jona.

In the XVI century, Hetman of the Grand Duchy of Lithuanian Prince Constantine Ostrogski allocates a large sum of money for the reconstruction of the temple. The work was carried out under the guidance and with the blessing of Metropolitan Joseph Soltan. The new Church had the shape of a ship.

After the Union of Brest in 1569, the Church was handed over to the Uniates. In 1632, the Church was rebuilt in the style of the Sarmatian Baroque. After the reconstruction of the temple has acquired the features of fortifications. In those turbulent years, most of the churches had to be able to protect themselves and those who hid behind their walls. Appeared on the façade of the towers with loopholes. In 1625, there was founded the men's Basilian monastery. Great help in the reconstruction of the temple and the construction of the monastery had Adam Gratovich. Under the Church he founded ancestral family tomb.

In 1839, when a contract becomes part of the Kingdom of Poland in the Russian Empire, most of the Catholic churches and monasteries were closed. Restoring historical justice, the Boris and Gleb Cathedral return to the Orthodox Church. It again transformed into a popular pseudo-Russian style.

In 1924 the Church was again reconstructed. Its architecture has lost jewelry, inherent in the pseudo-Russian style. In Soviet times the Cathedral was closed, the building housed the state archives.

Orthodox Church the oldest Church was passed in 1996. Now there are relics in the Orthodox Church: Theotokos of Novogrudok, the icon of the martyrs Boris and Gleb.
