One of the most famous monasteries in Russia - Pskov-Pechersk monastery, located seventy kilometers from the city of Pskov. The monastery is built in a deep ravine where a stream flows Kamenetz. From a distance the buildings of the monastery are almost invisible. Hidden behind the stone walls of the fortress, behind the high slopes of the coast, the monastery suddenly revealed in all its glory delighted the audience. On the territory of this monastery and is Lazarevskaya Church, named in memory of the gospel of St. Lazarus, who was resurrected by Jesus Christ, after holding them in the tomb four days.

Modest and unassuming Lazarevskoye this Cathedral was built over a long period, its construction took eight years. It was built between 1792 and 1800. The Church and adjacent building built by Archimandrite Peter (Mozhaisk). The Church of Lazarus the Righteous is built of stone, has two floors, domed with a glazed veranda - located in the North-Eastern part of the cloister, opposite the Cathedral of the assumption. The Church is set on the basement. Areas of the basement have exactly the same size, overlap torispherical vaults, defined on girth loops installed in the center. The plan of the lower floor exactly matches the plan of the basement, except for a small tent, which is covered with a torispherical arch on the North wall from the yard.

The temple is located on the bottom square of the cloister next to the "bloody path" (the title of descent from the Church of St. Nicholas on the lower area). The facade of the building from the North-East side has access to the farmyard and out of here in a two-part basement. The entrance to the temple itself – with the main facade, with access to the lower area, or through two aisles, standing nearby. The only decoration of the Church is Baroque Chapter, capping faceted drum with pedestal. The porch that overlooks the main facade has a simple gable. The temple walls are composed mainly of plates and only partly of brick. They plastered and has colors of pink. The Foundation of the Church – quarry tiled slabs and boards. A portion of the bottom is blue with applied gilt stars, gold and the upper part of the head. The dimensions of the temple is not very large: in length it shall be twenty-two feet, its width is measured at twelve metres.

Previously, when the Church was located a monastic hospital, later converted to the deanery, in view of the fact that the old rectory house in 1848, was destroyed by fire.

The Church has an interesting fate. She helped to heal the souls of patients who were treated in the monastery hospital, there was a time when the walls of the temple were small diocesan plant for the production of candles, and in 1849, lived there an Abbot. Since 1883, it was the hotel arranged for pilgrims-pilgrims. And in the 90-ies of the last century – the monastery archives and library. In 1967 was carried out repairs of the temple. Performed repair work inside the temple, by painting the Church.

In the Church of St. Lazarus the clock reads Newsitems the Psalter. Invisible prayer is performed, but the healing is noticeably reinforces, keeps those who day and night pray to the monks of God.
