The Kolomna Kremlin is one of the largest and most powerful fortresses of its time, which was built in 1525-1531, in Kolomna, during the reign of Vasily III. The original wall had 17 towers (four – pass) and had a length of 1938 meters. The height of the walls varied from 18 to 21 meters, thickness – from 3 to 4, 5 meters. Kolomna tower was the Western watchtower of the city, which was guarded by the Astrakhan highway (Moscow-Ryazan road) – one of the oldest roads in the state. Kolomna is the highest of all surviving towers of the Kremlin. Its height is 31 meters, with a diameter of 13 meters.
