Karasinski caravanserai or Sharps Khan was built in the middle of the thirteenth century (in 1236-1246 years) on the Great silk road, on the initiative of Gıyaseddin Kaykhusraw II - son of the Sultan Aladdin Keykubat I, for joining of Alanya to the Seljuk capital of Konya state. Since then, for many centuries it served as a roadside hotel, where merchants and ordinary travellers could rest and water the horses. It is located fifteen kilometers from Alanya.

Caravanserai — in many Turkic languages means caravan house is a large public building in Asia, in cities, on roads and in unpopulated points serving as shelters and Parking for travelers, usually for dealers.

Caravanserais in Turkey are of two types: open and closed. A closed form they were mainly built along the paths, on which caravans, although they can often be found in roadside towns. The walls were built such that they were given the opportunity to fend off attacks and to withstand a short-lived siege. Had they mostly build in the shape of a square or rectangle with an open courtyard in the middle of which was located the well. Inside are rooms for living and storage space for the goods. Mandatory there is an enclosure for beasts of burden. Meet one and two-storey caravanserai. The two-storey on the second floor were the living quarters, while the first warehouses and corrals for animals.

Caravanserais located between Konya and the South coast, mainly consist of courtyards, surrounded by a canopy, and indoor. On endless roads of Anatolia they stood like fortresses. With thick walls similar to walls, and towers, these caravanserais were an important place for traders and travelers. The architecture of these buildings show the influence of the Christianity.

Sharps Khan covers an area of almost 1 hectare and is closed. His look is also reminiscent of the ancient fortress. And there are reasons – because of an attack on a roadside of thieves in those days were not uncommon. He has an unusual structure. The walls of a rectangular courtyard, the size of him made of huge stones and limestone and supported using props. Those buttresses of large carved stones divide it into nine parts. The portal, located at the southern wall, reflects the features of Seljuk art. The door of the caravanserai framed by arches, one of which covers his roof. On one of the arches is an inscription in Arabic, where it is said, when and by whom was built the caravanserai. A small square room in the Eastern part of the building is a mosque, caravanserai. Inside one long hall and several separated rooms-wells. The building is quite impressive. Standing nearly eight centuries, it is not much affected by time, yet the ancients were skilled architects.

In addition, Sharps Khan is quite well preserved, a local entrepreneur bought it and restored the building. Today this is widely known in the middle ages the Inn opened as an entertainment center. There are plenty of restaurants and stalls with Souvenirs, fruit and Turkish delight. In one such restaurant is the show "Turkish night". Next to the caravan is a small mosque.
