As in any Czech town managed by a magistrate, in jáchymov has a Hall. In the early XVI century the city hall was located on the Grain market – near chapel of St. Anne. But with the development of the city a small wooden structure was unable to accommodate all the officials, so the authorities had to find new building for the needs of the city Council.

In 1531, the mayor allocated $ 2 thousand gold to purchase a more suitable structure. Such was the mansion of Hieronymus Schlick in the upper part of the city. He was completely arranged by the city authorities, therefore no alterations to its structure was not provided. But in 1538 at the mint, which was located in the neighbouring town Hall house, there was a strong fire. The fire spread to the house Schlick. To save the building failed, so officials were forced to move again in the building of the old town Hall. Because the land on which stood the mansion of Schlick, from now on, too, belonged to the city, it was decided to build on the ruins of the mansion new. This happened in the period from 1540 till 1544 years.

In 1784 the town Hall was reconstructed and its facade was rebuilt in the classical style. In the beginning of XX century the city hall was built on 1 floor increasing the usable area.

After the second world war the old town Hall was demolished, so now in Jachymov there is only one hall. It, incidentally, is also the town library and tourist office. On the facade of the town Hall above the portal you can see the coat of arms of the town of jáchymov. Once inside the building, notice the arches that have survived from the Renaissance period.
