Spaso-Borodinsky monastery, an Orthodox monastery on the Borodino field, founded in 1839, M. M. tuckaway, widow of A. A. Tuchkov, who was killed at Borodino. First, there was a chapel on the spot where Bagration's fleches were, and where he died, A. A. Tuchkov. In 1818-1820-XX years, the chapel was replaced by a stone Church of the Saviour.
Since the late 1820s M. M. Tuchkova constantly lived on the field of Borodino, in a wooden hut-a hut near the Church. Gradually it began to move in the widow of the Russian soldiers fallen at Borodino. This little female community lived according to the laws of the monastic life.
