The Museum of the Opole village Museum under the open sky, located in Opole. The Museum was created in 1961, and in 1970 it was opened to the public.

The main initiator of the Museum is Stanislav Bronich head of the Department of Ethnography of the Museum of Opole. In 1956-1958 he spent with members of the Ethnography Department of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, field work in Opole region, where they found more than a thousand wooden objects and buildings that have found their place in a future Museum.

In subsequent years, the Museum has created new objects: blacksmith's workshop, a bakery, a Playground. Currently the Museum has 49 objects. In order to enhance the credibility of the Museum, in the last two decades remodeled some of the rooms, and the attic of a residential house, dog house, vegetable garden, flower beds.

The main part of the exhibition tells about the life conditions of the rural population in the period from the eighteenth century to the beginning of the twentieth century. Presented here houses, mills, blacksmith shops, a Church, village school, pub. The collection contains nearly 7,000 exhibits, including Antiques.

The Church, brought to the Museum in 1973, was built of larch in 1613. The interior of the Church combines elements of Catholic and Protestant culture. The most important place in the temple was the altar of St. Nicholas and St. Catherine of Alexandria. It is made by an unknown master in the style of Dutch mannerism. The altar is made of gilded and silvered wood, depicts scenes from the life of St. Catherine of Alexandria.

The blacksmith building was built in 1726, as evidenced by the inscription on the lintel of the door. Water mill, brought to the Museum, dates from the year 1566, and the old windmill was built in 1734.

The Museum annually hosts a number of events aimed at popularization of folk culture and folklore.
