A sample of the original wooden architecture with its intricately carved patterns adorns one of the historic streets of Syzran. Elegant mansion was built in 1910 for mayor Martinian Vasilyevich Chernukhina.
The first Guild merchant M. V. Chernukhin, twice elected head of Syzran (from 1902-1906, and 1909-1917.), in addition to public service was an active social activist and the first who took part in rebuilding the city after the fire in 1906. In the manor wooden tower he lived with his wife Tatiana Spyskovoj and adopted son Kolya.
Unique in its architecture, the mansion has a truncated hipped roof, corbel right side of the facade and original carved frames - style inherent in the wooden architecture of the Russian North. In our days in the building's interior is decorated noble living.
Since 1983, the original mansion was recognized as an architectural monument of Federal significance and handed over to the local Museum. In the former house of the merchant M. V. Chernukhina is now an Exhibition hall - branch Syzran Museum of local lore. In the Exhibition hall demonstrates two permanent exhibitions: "Merchant club" and "the Art collection of count Orlov-Davydov" from Usol estate. In other exhibition spaces can be viewed traveling exhibitions and works of masters of decorative art. In the showroom you can buy paintings by local artists and gift products.
