In one quiet autumn morning 1874 sounded the whistle of the first locomotive arrived at the railway station of the town of Syzran. Before visitors guests a door opened in a beautiful two-storey station building with high arched Windows and spacious rooms.

Memorable event in Syzran was the arrival of the Imperial train in 1904. 28 June (old calendar), at 6.30 in the morning, on a specially constructed platform (upholstered in red cloth) ceremony (with bread and salt) on the arrival of the Russian Emperor. On the station platform gathered a crowd of thousands greeters Nicholas II, accompanied by his brother Michael. The purpose of the visit of the Emperor was a review of troops departing for the far East.

Now the station looks the same as in 1874 - in its original form. When major repairs and reconstruction of buildings 2007-2011) was very important to preserve the historical architectural style. Improvements were only the building's interior: specially established Fund and created the conditions for people with disabilities, dedicated exclusive lounge, the station and the station square is equipped with CCTV.

Nowadays, the building of the railway station "Syzran - 1", with a total area of over 1700 square meters, is a historic landmark of the city, included in the list of monuments of architecture and urban planning.
