Dolmens Tuapse represent a complex of historic dolmens, located near the resort town of Tuapse, in the Suburban village on the hillside Bogatyrka.
The tourist path to the dolmens passes through a dense thicket of the forest, but despite this, it is fairly well trodden. In places where there are steep slopes, the track is additionally equipped with various handles and earthen steps that help to quickly and safely get to your destination.
According to the modern Russian historians, currently on the territory of the Tuapse district is about 400 historic dolmens. Most of these dolmens belong to a kind of tile type. They usually consist of several large stone slabs, four of which are installed vertically, and the fifth plate covers them all, thus forming a stone house.
The most interesting is that on the outer side of a stone slab with nothing processed. Looking inside this powerful structure, you can see that its walls practically leveled and polished. In addition, you will notice that a large number of local historic dolmens are small protrusions of the walls and roof, so that there is one additional outbuilding. The dolmens were constructed only from the most dense limestones and sandstones approximately 1300 – 2400 BC.
Unfortunately, in modern times, the dolmens are often guilty of destruction and not a natural disaster, and the unreasonableness of people who do not want to keep these amazing structures in their pristine beauty. But despite this, stone dolmens remain standing in their places.
