Black lake is a unique body of water on the territory of National Park "Durmitor", situated not far from Zabljak, which is part of the ecosystem of the 18 unique glacial lakes. It is located above sea level at 1416 meters on the slopes Medjed. The area of the reservoir is $ 516 thousand square meters, and its maximum length is 1555 meters.

In fact, the Black lake, that two isolated lakes, Large and Small, which are connected by a narrow channel. In the spring of tourists manage to catch the moment when the water from one lake flows into another, creating a picturesque waterfall. In the summer of duct dries up and both lakes exist in isolation from each other.

The Black lake are dense thickets of coniferous forest, which is reflected in the water, giving it a very distinctive "black" color for which the lake was named Black. However, the water is so clear that the lake is deep in calm weather seen up to 9 meters. The locals called this lake "the Eye of the mountains" or "Mountain eyes".

Spring flooding also marks changes in several water bodies in Montenegro. A large lake, having done an impressive way in the bowels of the earth, turns into a tributary of the river Tara. The water of the Small lake first join in Komarnica, then into a river of Beer, and then in the Drina river.
