The house-Museum of Boris Mikhailovich Kustodiev, the famous Russian artist, Astrakhan by birth, was opened in the spring of 2002. It is located in a small house in which at the end of the century lived by individual members of the family Kustodieva.

In the House-Museum are the original items that belonged to the artist – palette, sketchbook, brushes, documents, telling about the family Kustodieva, pictures of old Astrakhan, and many other things that create the atmosphere of Astrakhan beginning of XX century.

Most of the exposure given, of course, works, and although Astrakhan collection of works by Kustodiev not very large, it includes picturesque and graphic works, sketches, stage sets, book illustration, sculpture, and examples of applied art, reflecting his diverse artistic quest. One room is devoted to the work of P. A. Vlasov, first teacher of the artist - a graduate of St. Petersburg Academy of painting.
