The Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul was built in the village (later to become the city) Dobrinishte in 1835. She became the second after erected in 1684 the Church of the assumption of the blessed virgin, the Church in the city.

At the beginning of the Balkan war in 1913, the Greeks and the Turks set fire to Dobrinishte. One of three places, burned by invaders, became tower. Soon after the fire on the East side getting to the building of the Orthodox Church of Saints Peter and Paul. Seeing this, the Greek officer ordered the soldiers to dial in the river water and to extinguish the temple. So he was saved. After the fire, turned the town in ashes, many residents Dobrinishte left it. However, there remains much older and in poor health people who in the end saved Church icons. Among them is truly valuable: "Resurrection", "virgin Mary" and others, brought to the Iberian monastery from Armenia. Also, survived valuable Byzantine cross with elegant carvings 1194. On the floor of the temple is a marble plate with double-headed eagle – the emblem of the Byzantine. Similar stone slabs typical of churches in the period between 1200 1300. The one that is in the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, was taken from the nearby Church of the Holy virgin, which was destroyed.

In 1926, the building was restored and renovated, to it was attached the bell tower. The interior of the temple is striking: the iconostasis with three gates, on which are exhibited ancient icons; the Royal doors with openwork carved and partially painted in different colors and plated elements (they were manufactured by craftsmen from the town of debar). Interest and ten Royal icons painted in 1835 and in the second half of the 19th century. Some of the small icons were painted by representatives of the art school of Bansko. Since 1867 in the nave are painted Bishop's throne and pulpit, and over the altar is a carved wooden canopy.
