Lola is located in the Central part of the district of Faro. This small town was founded in 1266. Weekly markets that are held there, attracting tourists from all over the Algarve.

In the city's architecture, especially in its Central part, the influence of Moorish culture. North of the city by the Arabs built a castle, rebuilt in the XIII century. With its walls offers wonderful views of the city. In the monastery of the Holy spirit housed the city art gallery. You can see how to weave baskets of wicker, is manufactured harnesses and horseshoes. Yet the city is famous for natural Gypsy market which is open on a Saturday morning.

The most famous and colorful holiday not only in loulé Algarve and in Portugal, is the carnival, during which closes the Central street of the city. The carnival lasts for three days, begins on the third day of carnival, in February, and somewhat reminiscent of the Brazilian carnival, when people go outside to look at passing a colorful procession, listen to music and to join in the dancing.
