North of Cotonou lies the town Ganvie, all 12 thousand people who live in bamboo huts on stilts, scattered for several miles on lake Nokoue. In the XVIII-th century the tribes Tofino built this unique village for the purpose of protection against the aggression of the Kingdom of Dahomey and Background, religious tradition which forbade the soldiers to enter the water. Now buildings, restaurants, shops and even a hotel tower at 2 meters above the water. Local residents are opposed to having their photographs taken, so it is recommended to abandon filming on site Ganvie. I can add description
