The Church of San Juan de Caselles – one of the main attractions of Canillo and is one of the most beautiful churches of Andorra.

The temple, built in the XI – XII century, stands on a small hill at the outskirts of the village and is a fine example of Romanesque architecture of this small European country. It offers a magnificent view of the picturesque valley surrounded by mountains.

Real decoration of the Church of San Juan de Caselles is its three-storey bell tower, the highest in the country. The bell tower was built separately from the Church building, but was later attached to it. Each floor has Windows. As for the two top floors, they have paired Windows, which are decorated with beautiful arches, executed in the Lombard style. The single-nave Church with a semicircular apse. There are two entrances, located in the Eastern and Northern wall. By the structure of the nave of the temple is simple and quite high.

Until today it has two porches, built approximately in the XVI and XVII century inside the monastery, you can see the well preserved remains of Roman stucco XII century, located in the surroundings of frescoes. The Church altar of the XVI century, has high artistic value. In its details it is clearly visible the influence of the Renaissance style.
