It may seem strange and completely out of date that it is possible to keep the gallery, which does not bring any income. Eugene M. Lunin – a businessman from the city of Chelyabinsk; by profession he is an economist and mechanical engineer. The opening of the gallery was an important decision for the entrepreneur, because it will be possible to support many artists who show their works to the public, and also just to help them survive.

The history of the gallery began in 1996, completely randomly, when Eugene M. made the order of the young schedule from Cherepovets to Yuri Volkov, which consisted of quite a few compositions. Soon Lunin met other young artists, learned about their lives, families, work; but, as it turned out, the most pressing issue almost all artists is the lack of demand in the arts that mostly concerns the Russian provinces, where even especially gifted artists is almost impossible to sell. It is known that about thirty members of the Russian Union of artists living in the city of Cherepovets, have become hostage to the lack of means of existence.

It is the purchase of artwork and became involved Evgenii Mikhailovich. Meeting Lunina E. M. at most dedicated to the art masters from Vologda oriented tradition of realism. At the moment in the gallery there are more than three thousand works of drawing, painting, sculpture.

The opening of the gallery took place in 2001. The most valuable painting gallery is "Portrait of V. I. Belov" – the most important work in the iconography of the great poet of the Vologda region.
