JSC RUTA is the oldest Lithuanian company, which specializes in the production of chocolates of different varieties, shapes and tastes.

Historical development of the factory began in 1913 in the city of šiauliai. This is the time of Antanas Grizevicius equipped in a small room, a boiler for boiling caramel. Discoverers of the new company became the owners themselves ruty - Antanas, Grizevicius and his wife of Jozef. The owner of the factory was trained as a pastry chef skills in the city of šiauliai, and he attended classes at St. Petersburg and Vilnius. As soon as the first candy from Grizevicius, almost a sweet tooth, they relished.

Over time the candy factory grew in size and achievements, and by 1923, it was built a few more brick buildings, while rapidly expanded and improved production. Its main peak, the company has achieved in the interwar period: then the factory employed about 160 workers and producing about 300 different kinds of candy. The extraordinary talent of the bakers was highly appreciated not only locally but also in international competitions and exhibitions Land economy and Industry of Lithuania in 1922, 1926 and 1930 in the city of Kaunas in 1928 in Siauliai won the gold medal. In 1929, Italy had won the Grand prize and gold medal, 1931 in England was full of won the gold medal.

In the period from 1940 to 1993, the factory was a state-owned enterprise. After the independence of Lithuania was restored, the former factory building, located on the area of 5 thousand square meters were again placed in the hands of the family of A. Grizevicius. In the fall of 2002, the factory RUTA entrepreneur A. Grizevicius was reorganized into closed joint stock company. Restored candy factory quite slowly, but successfully, which took a lot of creativity, effort and patience of production workers.

At the moment the enterprise ROOT are well-known enterprise which has not only an old tradition, but also finds the latest modern technologies. The company can be justifiably proud of its long history of existence and well-deserved honorary name. Now RUTH is a company of medium size, with 240 employees who work in seven workshops for the production of candies, as well as microbiological and technological laboratory, which is responsible for checking the quality of raw materials, semi-finished and finished products directly. In most big cities of Lithuania operates eleven branded stores factory.

RUTA plays an important role in building a range of economic market. The production offers unique recipes and original products. In my country the factory is known as the brand that cares about the health of consumers of their products, using in recipes a large amount of natural vegetable raw materials provided by fruits, berries, bee products and other raw materials. In addition, the factory offers environmental sweets and products made without the use of sugar. To create new formulations have been implemented in close cooperation with Lithuanian scientists.
