One of the most beautiful creations of Indian craftsmen – Hawa Mahal, "Palace of Winds", is located on a street in the wonderful city of Jaipur. The main "designer" was designed by Lal Chand Ustad, the idea of which was to build a Palace in the shape of a crown of the Hindu God Krishna. Its five-story front part resembles the honeycomb of the bee-hive – it has 953 small Windows called Jharokhas, decorated with refined grids. These bars were intended for the noble ladies of the harem of the ruler was free to observe the everyday street life, without fear of being seen by strangers. This was due to the fact that they had to comply with "purdah" - a strict rule that the woman was supposed to hide his face.

"Palace of Winds" is a part of City Palace complex and is situated in the heart of Jaipur, one of the most bustling business districts of the city. Hawa Mahal is adjacent to Zenana – the female part of the complex, which housed the harem. The Palace was designed at the request of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh clan Kachwaha, ruler of Rajasthan. But its construction was only completed during the reign of Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799. In the summer Palace has become a favorite resting place of the great family of the Rajah, because it was always cool.

Hawa Mahal is built of red and pink Sandstone, which gives it an amazing look when it get sunlight. This five-story, reminiscent of pyramid building, towers over the area of 15 meters. It has countless rooms, each equipped with its small balcony, decorated with a small dome.
