Strobl am Wolfgangsee - Austria city located in the state of Salzburg on the border with Upper Austria. The city is located on the East side of the lake Wolfgangsee in the resort region near St. Gilgen.

The famous town of St. Wolfgang is located within walking distance from Strobl am Wolfgangsee, are common excursions, including the plateau of Postal and Schafberg (1783 meters above sea level), accessible by cog railway. The area is popular for Hiking and water sports in the summer, skiing in the winter.

Strobl gradually became more and more popular holiday destination. In the nineteenth and twentieth centuries regularly carried out activities for the aristocracy and the bourgeoisie during their summer stay in bad Ischl.After the Second world war the city was in the American zone of occupation.

In Strobl am Wolfgangsee is a late-Gothic Church of St. Sigismund, in which he was buried Prince Tassilo von Furstenberg.
