Waterfalls Valle delle Ferriere is located in the territory of the nature reserve near the town of Amalfi, one of the most popular resorts in Italy. Attraction is not really known, because, when talking about the Amalfi coast, to mind in the first place come the magical beauty of the coast with dozens of cosy villages, magnificent cathedrals, ancient palaces and monuments of history and architecture of the great sea of the Amalfi Republic. However, aside from all this there are many other interesting places, and the nature reserve of "Valle delle Ferriere" is one of them. It is located just above Amalfi, and to get on its territory is easy, just a short walk from the city centre.

Valle delle Ferriere is an amazing place that first sight captivates visitors with its scenery and wildlife. Throughout the reserve the river Canneto, which generates amazing waterfalls and small ponds, in the spring becomes a Mecca for swimmers. Thanks Canneto the reserve vegetation so lush and diverse. Here you can see many different types of colorful orchids, known for their large leaves woodwardia and volosatikov Girenko – carnivorous plant-eating small insects. The most common representative of the fauna of the reserve is the otter. And, of course, incredibly diverse the bird life of these places.

The territory of Valle delle Ferriere is famous not only for its natural heritage, but also monuments of human activity. So, in the heart of the valley, there are several ancient mills, which today are already out of business. In the past they produced food, in the first place - pasta. Here you can also find many traces of one of the most important and profitable industries of the medieval Amalfi paper production. Paper made by special technology, the foundations of which were borrowed from the Arabs. Today in the surroundings of Amalfi has 16 paper mills, but only two of them are open to visitors. And then there is the paper Museum, located in the old mill building.

In the upper part of the Valle delle Ferriere can be found the ruins of another ancient plant, the so-called "Opificio". Once upon a time it was produced almost all of the iron used by the merchants of Amalfi Republic. And from here came the name of the whole valley is in Italian language it sounds like Iron Valley.
