The La Mesa Ecopark is located in Quezon city, near the reservoir, which supplies drinking water to 12 million residents of Metro Manila Metropolitan area. The reservoir area is 2700 hectares, of which the tank is only 700 hectares, while the remaining 2 thousand hectares are covered with forests. Huge green area serves as the "lungs" of the city.

For a long time the territory of the reservoir was in poor condition because of lack of funding illegal settlements on its banks, poaching and deforestation. Fortunately, in 1999 the organization was set up to "Watch" Nature, which initiated a project to rescue La Mesa. One of the goals of the project was the restoration of forest cover and landscaping. The total area in need of restoration, was more than 1, 5 thousand hectares, and left today to plant a total of 158 hectares. the project involves the active participation of the residents of Quezon, which can "adopt" a tree.

In addition, the project created a public Park on an area of 33 hectares 40 metres below the reservoir. In 2004 it was officially opened and was called "the La Mesa Ecopark". All proceeds from the activities go to the security area of the reservoir. One of the main tasks of the Park in addition to organizing recreational activities is the environmental education of children. Pupils and students use the Park and its surroundings as a "living" laboratory for the study of natural phenomena and processes. Only in 2006, La Mesa was attended by more than 280 school groups from across the country.

Today, the La Mesa Ecopark remains one of the favorite places of recreation for residents of Quezon and Manila. On the area of 5 ha arranged a special picnic sites, are never empty.
