National Park Torndirrup" is located 10 km South of Albany on the shore of the Strait of King George. The Park is famous for its rock formations carved by the wind and the harsh waves of the southern ocean: a Window, a Bridge, Shell and others – all of them for thousands of years to grind out of granite.

National Park Torndirrup was founded in 1918, is one of the first in Western Australia. He was named after a tribe of Australian aborigines who lived in those places. Today this Park is one of the most visited in the state, the number of visitors reaches 250 thousand a year.

The Park consists of three types of rocks, one of which – the gneiss is formed 1300-1600 million years ago! This rock can be seen on the cliffs of the Window. Granite rocks were formed later, when the Australian plate separated from the Antarctic approximately 1160 million years ago. They can be seen on top of a Stone Hill.

Flora of the national Park "Torndirrup" presents cotton bushes, peppermint trees, swamp gum trees, different types of banksia forest and curry. Here grow very rare cotton shrub Albany and the world's only population of blue Lily.

Among the animals of the Park – kangaroos, Bush rats, pygmy possums and korotkonogie the Bandicoot. Many reptiles, including tiger snake, echiopsis, ringed spotted and brown Python snake. In 1976, they have discovered a very rare species of shrews. Birds the Park is no less diverse – in the present time, new Zealand starlings, trejdersky and many sea birds. From the cliffs you will often see the passing whales and sea lions.

On the territory of the Park there are many walking trails with a length of not more than 1, 5 km And there is only one path has a length of 10 km it leads along the Peninsula Flinders to the Eastern tip of the Park. While walking on the coastal part of the Park need to be extremely cautious and careful and not to go with the equipped trails – here already there have been several accidents when deviated from the route tourists were washed away right in the raging ocean water wave suddenly flown.
