The Museum of caricatures is located in an old Baroque building in the heart of Mexico city. In 1612 this place was located the Royal College, but this building was built in the 70-ies of the 18th century. Some parts of the building were rebuilt during the restoration and repairs. The facade is in Baroque style and the patio is a vivid example of 18th century houses. Opposite the main entrance goes a long corridor that leads to the yard. Windows and doors front part framed gray-white stone, and the top is full of floral ornament.

The Museum opened its doors in 1987. The main collection is one of the halls of the first floor, most of them exhibited paintings there are of a political nature. They criticize overthrown in 1910 by President Porfirio Diaz. Most of the figures were painted by Jose Guadalupe Posada. At a nearby Mexican Hall of expressive art, as a rule, hosts temporary exhibitions.

The Museum exhibited works by famous artists of Mexico Jose Clemente Orozco and Frida Kahlo. On the top floor of the Museum there is a hall Mexican cartoonists society. There are temporary exhibitions and holds art workshops, conferences and book presentations.
