Memorial stone Konstantin Simonov was installed on Buinichi field in 1980. According to the will of the Soviet writer, who died in 1979, his ashes were scattered over Buinichy field, together with the remains of soldiers killed in the battles for the liberation of Mogilev soldiers and officers. On the place where was held a mourning ceremony dispelling the dust, was set ancient glacial boulder weighing 15 tons, on which was embossed autograph Konstantin Simonov, and on the reverse side the inscription: "K. M. Simonov. 1915 - 1979. All his life he remembered the battlefield 1941 and bequeathed to dispel the dust." The stone used to be located at the Museum of boulders.
In his younger years, Konstantin Simonov was a war correspondent of the newspaper "Izvestia". He attended Buinichi field during the fierce battles for the city of Mogilev. He saw everything with his own eyes and later described in the novel "the Living and the dead", "Soldiers are not born," "Last summer" and the journal "the war".
Heart Konstantin Simonov always remain dear and memorable to him by the city of Mogilev, and the ashes got only the unattached air, walking on silent forever battleground of the last brutal war. Thanks to Simon we will never forget the days of horror and the glory of the great Patriotic war and what he did for the descendants of the defenders Buinichi fields.
