Two castles – Old and New – are on the outskirts of the town of Studenka and part of the eponymous castle.
To reach Studenka is very simple: just take the train in Ostrava and 20-30 minutes to reach the railway station Studenka. The local castle, which will be of interest to those interested in the history of rail transport in the Czech Republic. Its interiors are reserved for the exhibition about the development of this type of transport, the emergence of the Moravian-Silesian factory for building cars. The castle presents railroad cars, which were produced until 1996. To see the old cars inside and out will be interesting for both adults and children.
Those tourists who are interested in the welfare of the Czech aristocrats and want to see the castle interiors, too, will not be disappointed. In the castle there is a rich moldings, carved panels on the walls, beautiful furniture.
The history of the castle complex is quite normal. The old castle is an ancient three-story Gothic castle which was later rebuilt in the Renaissance style. Two-storey castle in the Baroque style appeared next to the Old one in the eighteenth century. Some time later, both of the Palace were rebuilt in the same style and now complement each other.
About New castle was laid out in English landscape Park, where grown plants listed in the Red book. The Park covers an area of 3 acres and ideal for leisurely walks.
The castle complex is owned by city authorities in the town of Studenka and is considered a national monument of the Czech Republic.
