About 11 km from the capital of Thassos, on the slopes of its highest mountain, Ipsaro (1203 m) is a small mountain village of Potamia. On the coast just 3 km from Potami is a port town and popular resort of Thassos – Skala of Potamia with well-developed tourist infrastructure and a beautiful beach area. There is also the famous "Golden beach" - the winner of the blue flag of UNESCO.
