The aqueduct is a popular attraction located in the North of the Old Bar. The word "aqueduct" in Latin – a conduit, specializing in the supply of water to the settlements, hydropower and irrigation systems from sources above. In the narrower meaning of "aqueduct" is an element of a conduit constituting a bridge over a river or ravine.

Aqueduct in Old Bar was built in the era of the Ottoman occupation of Montenegro in the XVII century. It consists of 17 massive pillars supporting the 17 arches. Above the pillars, according to the rules of construction of aqueducts, the Turks laid in a closed channel ceramic tube with a diameter of approximately 12 inches. This magnificent structure built of rough-hewn stone, from afar it resembles a giant mountain bridge.

In earlier times, the aqueduct was actively used for its intended purpose – with it, water was provided to all local people. Today the aqueduct is only a popular tourist and historical structure.

Their appearance aqueduct gives a picturesque area of the Old Bar's view of a truly ancient city, over which time has no power. For all time of its existence, the aqueduct was seriously injured once during the earthquake in the late 70's. After which the aqueduct was quickly restored.

Today, the aqueduct was abandoned in view of the fact that in the Old Bar, in fact no one is home.
