Beijing zoo is located near the Astronomical laboratory and exhibition centre in Beijing, in the area of Jeshimon. This Park is very similar to a conventional garden, but in the midst of ferns, shrubs, green meadows and picturesque ponds lurk rare flora and fauna.

The Beijing zoo is more than a hundred years, it opened in 1908 under the title "Garden of 1000 animals." During the reign of Emperor of the Qing dynasty, this zoo complex was renamed and it became known as the "House of Prince". The Foundation of the Republic of China was reflected in the Beijing zoo in the form of another renaming "Park West". The last time the sign was changed its name in 1955 and began to read "Beijing zoo".

Total construction area is 50,000 square meters, containing more than 7000 animals, which were brought to Beijing from different countries of the world. In aviaries, cages, houses and live tigers, rhinos, lions, elephants, crocodiles and pythons, giraffes, zebras and kangaroos and many others. Also the zoo has an unusual Golden korukonda monkey, Tibetan Yak and balogova DOE.

The zoo is divided into several sections: Monkey Hill, the Hill of lions and Tigers, home of the Giant Pandas, Giraffes Enclosure, Lake water Birds, Mountain Bears, African zone, etc. In a two-storey, purpose-built enclosure designed for reptiles and amphibians, tourists and visitors can see snakes, pythons, turtles and alligators.

In the North-Eastern part of the zoo is the aquarium – the largest in China. Its area is slightly less than 35,000 square meters. The building is shaped like a giant shell, and inside is a huge maze.

Inside the Oceanarium is divided into four zones: the hall of tropical plants, hall sharks, oceanic library and ocean theatre. In the hall of the tropics presents bright tropical fish. In the hall sharks – major marine predators. Library and reading room of sea creatures and ocean theatre you can see dolphins, seals and sea lions.
