National drama theatre named after P. Kuciak is one of the main cultural attractions of the capital of the Altai Republic. The drama theatre is located in the heart of the city. The building of the institution is made in the style of the traditional homes of indigenous peoples, with its four-sided roof can be seen from almost any point in the city. The history of the theatre began in 1978 with a performance titled "Lit Golden dawn", staged by the famous Altai writer P. Kuchiyak.
