A unique Museum of one painting that made the city famous Penza on the whole world, is located in the historical part of the city, on the street of Kirov. Museum. G. V. Myasnikov opened in February 1983 to the present day analogues such museums in the world. The uniqueness of the Penza Museum is that it has no permanent exhibition, guests are just one painting, but with a full history of the creation of the painting, a story about the life and work of the artist, with illustrations, a slide show, accompanied by music. On the creation of slide-films of talented writers and Directors, and give voice to texts by leading artists of the Metropolitan theatres. In the Museum of one painting is acquainted with the masterpieces of foreign and domestic art, brought from the Russian Museum, the Hermitage, the Tretyakov Gallery and other museums of Russia.

The history of the Museum is also unique in its kind. The initiator and author of the idea of this unusual Museum was a political activist and local historian George V. butchers. The Museum is housed in the building of a monument of architecture of the nineteenth century and is a branch of the Penza art gallery named after K. A. Savitsky. Near the Museum are the main historical attractions of the city - a monument to the "first settler" and "rampart".
