One of the biggest attractions in Egypt is the famous pyramid of Djoser. This ancient structure was built by Imhotep in 2650 BC as the tomb of the Egyptian Pharaoh Djoser. Initially, the architect planned to build a normal sibling of the tomb, but during construction it was decided to create a stepped structure, in order that the soul is resting here Pharaoh could ascend to heaven on these steps. It is believed that the pyramid of Djoser was the first pyramid in the history of mankind.

The pyramid is the Central object of the funerary complex at Saqqara, which occupies a total area of about 15 ha. to get to the inner part of the pyramid through a narrow door in its East side. Initially, the step pyramid had a height of 60 m, but today the height of the building is about 58, 7 m. the Scale of the pyramid has changed somewhat because of the huge number of alterations and completions. According to the historical complex of Djoser, including the step pyramid, has undergone a major renovation during the Saite period (26-28 dynasty).

Inside the pyramid is a huge mine size 10x12 m with numerous tunnels. Special attention should be paid to the inner part of the building, which is based on the giant mine. With its Eastern side, at a certain working distance was punched 11 additional vertical shafts, connected by tunnels. Very well done to the plane of the shaft, the corners are smooth and straight.
