Mountain Mantalingajan, also known as Mantling, located in the southern part of Palawan island. The mountain peak is the highest peak of the island – 2100 meters. In addition, Mantling is part of the geological region of mount Beaufort Ultramafics and is part of the national Park Mountain Range Mantalingajan", established in 2009. The total area protected area – 120, 457 ha.

Still on the territory of the mountain and its surroundings, scientists find new species of plants and animals, indicating that the incredible ecological value of these places. So, in 2007, there was discovered a new species of extremely rare insectivorous plants, named in honor of the mountain – the nepenthes mantainance. According to leading environmentalists of the country Park should be protected from illegal logging and mining.

Mantalingajan popular not only among scientists but also among the tourists is the mountain is considered one of the most difficult for climbing. The usual route begins in the town of rizal on the South West coast of Palawan. The climb takes 3 days for the trip – 2 days.
