Sutomore is a city located 22 km from Petrovac, home to about 5,000 people. In summer the city becomes a pedestrian area for tourists: the Central street Sutomore (as in other resort town – Budva), runs parallel to the highway, along the coast of the Adriatic sea. On the Peninsula of Ratac are the ruins of an ancient Benedictine monastery Ratajski of the virgin, which otherwise is called Ratajski Abbey. It is located in a conservation area.

The monastery was founded in 1247, in 1571, the Ottoman army completely destroyed, what caused its devastation. Prior to that, he also repeatedly attacked the Ottoman Empire.

It is known that the monastery stood at the shoreline and was also owned by the Benedictine brotherhood. Also in the possession of the brotherhood were the surrounding land, and the representatives of the brotherhood were actively engaged in trade and production of olive oil.

In Ratajska Abbey in the twelfth century appeared the first written literary monument of the South Slavs. It is a "Chronicle of the priest of Dukhanina".
