In the Aegean sea, in the southern part of the Cyclades, lies the small Greek island of Folegandros. Until recently, this rocky island was not too popular among tourists. Nevertheless, picturesque landscapes, interesting sights, azure waters of the Aegean sea and the special atmosphere of coziness every year are attracted to Folegandros, a growing number of lovers of calm and measured rest.

The name "Folegandros" is the capital of the island, often referred to as "Chora" (as well as many administrative centres of small Greek Islands). The town is situated on top of a cliff (at an altitude of 200 m above sea level) located about 3-4 km from the port of Karavostasi and is a traditional Cycladic village with small white houses built close to each other, and narrow cobblestone streets. Hora is a town for pedestrians and car Parking is provided only on the edge. Here you will find a small selection of small, but charming hotels and apartments and cosy taverns and cafes with traditional Greek cuisine. In the upper part of town is the medieval fortress of Kastro, built by the Venetians in the 13th century.

In the surrounding area Choirs (about 4 km) in the picturesque slope of the cliff and is one of the most famous attractions of the island – the Church of the virgin. To the majestic white building on the edge of a precipice leads zigzag road. From the summit offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city and the coast.
