Organ hall – one of the main cultural and architectural attractions of the capital of Moldova Chisinau. This is a high structure, adorned with a statue of an angel with wings and laying stone lions in front of the front door and the back door will not impress any passerby.
The building, which today houses the Organ hall, was originally designed for other purposes and do not always serve the art and music. In 1903 settled here, the clergy, and did the organization called "House of Debt", and provided for distributing financial assistance to the clergy in times of need. In 1922, the Diocesan Congress transformed the "Home Loans" to another organization, dubbed "the Bank of Orthodox clergy of Bessarabia". After the Second World war the building was restored. It was then decided his fate. An important role was played by the amazing acoustics of the hall.
The building was erected in the inherent classicism of monumental form with the addition of romantic elements. A distinctive feature of the building are the integrity of the image and strict proportions. Such expressive way contribute to the sculptural group and the outline of the dome.
The main highlight of this magnificent hall was Electromechanical organ, including about 4 thousand pipes. The installation of the organ was made by famous Czech company with old traditions "Rieger-Kloss". For the first time the organ sounded in September 1978 at the concert dedicated to the opening of the Chisinau Organ hall. This celebration was attended by the cellist I. Josan, organist S. Bodiul, Academic Choir Chapel "Doina" and Merited activist of the arts, soprano M. Bieshu and other folk artists.
Annually in the organ hall hosts a variety of exhibitions, festivals and competitions.
