Lustenau is a town in Austria, located in the Western part of the province of Vorarlberg on the Rhine river, which marks the border with Switzerland. The whole city is in a valley, the total height is 404 meters above sea level.

The first written mention of Lustenau are 887 year, when there was still ruled by the Carolingians. Until 1806 the city was under the rule of the Habsburgs, and in 1814, after the Congress of Vienna Lustenau was the Austro-Hungarian city. In the 19th century Lustenau became one of the centers of the Austrian textile industry, as has long been famous for its linen fabrics, and gorgeous embroideries and laces.

Lustenau has a long and successful history in the sport. Twin city football team playing in the Austrian football League. Famous and successful skier mark Girardelli originating from Lustenau. Hockey team also annually works fine.

Cultural life Lustenau is pretty intense. Annually, there are outdoor concerts, fairs. Since 1975, regularly hosts jazz concerts organized by the jazz club Lustenau. Many artists became famous thanks to this jazz festival (Dexter Gordon, Michelle Petrucciani, Chet Baker).
