Zheleznovodsk city Museum is a state institution of culture, founded in 1983, the Museum is located on the street Lermontov, 3. For visitors the Museum was opened in 1988, although his first exhibition entitled "Zheleznovodsk and Zheleznovodske during the great Patriotic war was opened in 1985

Funding from the state was not, so the Museum was opened on a voluntary basis. But soon after opening it became a state. In the Museum there are about 15940 exhibits, of which 12885 items of the main Fund.

To date, the Museum has plenty of exhibits related to the history of this region from ancient times to the present. The first room is devoted to the discoveries of medical sources of Zheleznovodsk - Dr. F. Haas, mining engineer A. Nezlobinskom and Professor A. Nelyubin. Also on display are personal items, books, photos of the man who played a key role in the development of the city as a health resort - Dr. S. Smirnova.

The second section of the Museum called "Archaeology" opens the exhibition of valuable exhibits, confirming that this area was inhabited by ancient tribes, Sarmatians, Scythians, Alans. Here you can see everyday objects, weapons, tools for agriculture, and more. Of particular interest is the collection of axes, knives and other metal products.

Special attention in Zheleznovodsk the local history Museum is one of the exhibits - with excavation there were found ancient burial Koban culture, where in one of the mounds of stone slabs was found the skeleton warrior lying. Next to the warrior were also found the weapon – a knife, a quiver of arrows, a spear tip. In addition, at the head of a warrior was a ceramic bowl.
