Olympus Montenegro called Durmitor, Montenegrin national Park. UNESCO in 1980, announced his gem global wealth of the biosphere.

Disputes about where did the name of this magnificent mountain range, are conducted by scientists today. According to one version, the name of the Park was given thanks to the Latin "dormio" (to sleep). In the legend that support this version, referred to by Roman legionaries, who once was in these parts and are very afraid of the local mountains. And that the mountains were sleeping, and the legionaries could easily miss them, they should give prayer requests about their gods.According to another version, the name comes from the Celtic "dru-mi-tor" (translated means "water from the mountains").

When admiring the breathtaking scenery of Durmitor, come to mind both options: the sleeping mountain peaks hiding between eighteen glacial lakes that locals nicknamed "the eyes of the mountains, and springs are present here (748).

Only within this Park is located just 7 of ecosystems that are unique. These include Black lake, famous for its beauty and romance, unique black pine trees (a grove) and ancient forest, which is basically growing firs and spruces.

Another attraction of Durmitor is considered a glacial cave. It is located high above sea level (2040 km), and all inside it affects the abundance of whole stalactites and stalagmites compositions. Peak Bobotov Kuk, height 2523 m, is considered the highest point in Montenegro. The entire array surrounding it, consists of a number of other peaks 48 and a variety of heights.

In the national Park you can discover a considerable quantity and variety of cultural heritage monuments, and among them even the monasteries of the fifteenth century: one of them is devoted to the Rath, and the other SV. To The Archangel Michael.

Most locals and many visitors come to the Park Durmitor, not only for nature but also for a pleasant stay.In this place there are plenty of opportunities for active outdoor recreation: fishing in Black lake, boating, trekking, horse riding lessons. Rafting on Tara river and paragliding – extreme entertainment for lovers of thrills. In winter, the Park is crowded with fans of skiing and snowboarding. Due to the abundance of a variety of descents from the mountains, everyone will be able to pick out the route for the soul.
