Estoril, which is the sunniest city in Europe, known as the city, which houses many churches, interesting from an architectural point of view. The Church of Santo antónio, perhaps, is the most visited place of the resort, except for the famous casino.

The Church Of Santo António (St. Anthony of Padua was built in the early XVI century by the monks of St. Francis. The temple stands on the spot where once was a wooden chapel 1527, built in honor of a Catholic Saint St Roch (St. Roch of Montpellier). After this land was granted to the monks of St. Francis, who built the parish Church on the site of the chapel.

In 1755, during the Lisbon earthquake, the Church was partially destroyed. The restoration of the Church was begun in 1756 and completed in 1758. Was the facade was restored and the altar.
