Sculpture with a fountain called "Flirt with umbrella" is set in Kaluga, a city Park of culture and rest.
The advent of "Coquette with umbrella" Kaluga mayor owes Makarov Mikhail Antonovich, who organized the construction on the square in front Seating rows round cast iron bowl to collect water. The Grand opening of the fountain donated by the mayor of Kaluga city, was held on 16 August 1807.
In 1886 in Kaluga construction of a municipal water supply, and special water boxes. Makarov fountain pool then lost its importance, and it was decided to move to the city garden. In the late 19th century over the Central bowl mounted figure of a Swan with raised beak, from which water flowed. Shortly before the outbreak of the First World war, the shape of a bird was replaced by a bronze statue depicting a Flirty girl with umbrella. A jet of water spurted from the tip of the umbrella and, falling down, dripping into the upper bowl of the fountain on the umbrella. According to the legend, the statue of the girl coquette brought from Italy one from Kaluga merchants.
Girl with umbrella adorned the Park until the autumn of 1941, but during the occupation of Kaluga fascists, disappeared. In 1960-70 years in the upper bowl of the fountain on the Wires Russian winter festival was traditionally burnt the effigy of Winter. In 1977 the city newspaper "the Banner" addressed to the inhabitants of the city with the request to help to find photos of the fountain and sculpture girl coquette. The townspeople gladly responded to the call and brought to the editor about a dozen shots. Due to this, on 1 August 1979 recreated the sculpture back to its original location. But after a few years the fountain was damaged by vandals. In 2000, the statue finally fallen into disrepair
In 2010, Kaluga Park of culture appeared before the inhabitants of the city in its original form. Again there is a fence, reminiscent of the fence of the Summer garden in St. Petersburg, and one of the alleys of the Park again decorated with figure of a mysterious stranger, coyly peeking out from under the umbrella.
