Reserve Photo: Reserve "seal Bay"

Reserve "seal Bay", as the name implies, is the habitat of the last on the island colony of Australian sea lions. When a fish these lovely animals was one of the main lessons of the first European settlers that put the existence of the species under threat of extinction. But, fortunately, in time people came to their senses, and since 1972, the local colony of sea lions is under state protection. In 1994, was built visitor centre of the Park, and in 1996 - padded new the boardwalk (400 m) through the dunes that leads to the viewing platform. This track can use "wild" tourists, to see the colony of sea lions. And access directly to the beach is allowed only in groups escorted by a Park Ranger (walk along the beach among lions lasts 45 minutes). On the beach you can also see the skeleton of a beached whale many years ago. Some of the Park is completely closed to tourists, mostly those places where pinniped pups nursed. In the Park you can also meet wallabies, who sometimes stalk along Hiking paths, opossums and the vipers, although they are mainly nocturnal. Ubiquitous on kangaroo island can be seen wandering along the beach among lions.

To get to the "Bay of seals" is a 45-minute drive from Kingscote. Close to protected areas is the Bay Belz (Bales Bay), where there is an equipped picnic with all the necessary amenities.
